Yin Yoga Workshops

Living the Deities

Yoga Garden, 903 South Street, Philadelphia, PA
Feb 07, 2015
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Our yoga is a process of becoming, and an experience of being. Our yoga wants us to be “Us.” You want to be the yoga, and in truth, you are the yoga. It is not something that you just “do.”

If you have spent any time with the deities, you probably have a sense of which myths resonate most closely with you, or which deity you might “be”. You might even know this without having any logical reason for your knowing. You might know in a simple, easy, intuitive way. You may even feel it deeply inside yourself.

In this blissful workshop, Sitaram Das (Daniel Shankin), will take us on a journey of asana and lecture that demonstrates the way that our yoga can bear fruit that helps us to recognize these deities or myths, and the magic they present within us.

$45, or $75 for both events. Unlimited Members get 10% off.

Feeling the Gunas and The Cultivation of Sattva

A featured component of Shakti’s 2012 Personal Enrichment/Teacher Training Program, this workshop is open to interested participants. Explore the elements of subtle energy as they relate to lifestyle, diet, body, and attitude.
Explore practical ayurvedic applications of ancient wisdom to cultivate yoga lifestyle. The Upanishads, The Bhagavad Gita, and many other texts refer to three qualities that pervade all material existence. These qualities are called Gunas; Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas. They provide an excellent framework for how to restore balance to our system, and ultimately enable healthy spiritual growth.
