Pranayama, Pranavidya: the expansion and wisdom of the energy body
As asana practice makes our body strong and open, we experience changes in our energy levels. We feel stamina and strength, and at the same time, a sense of calm and evenness. We notice that practice has an effect on our prana, and a curiosity arises, about how we can relate more fully with our energy, how we can enhance and fine tune this system. This workshop will explore these methods, in two distinct ways. First, we will have Pranayama practice. this includes various methods of controlling and expanding the breath, infusing our physical body with pranic goodness. Second we will use intention and visualization to practice Pranavidya, ancient tantric techniques of consciously moving energy throughout the subtle channels of the body. This awakens our awareness to universes of vitality that rest dormant within us, and teaches us to navigate blockages that keep us from living a full, yogic life.
