It takes alot of work to put on a spectacle like the Tai Chi Demonstration at the Olympics. Approximately 11 months of 16 hour days. 2500 people working 16 hour days for 11 months. It would be expensive too, you've got to think. However, the Chinese found ways to cut costs. They decided to forgo decent housing, nutrition, free time, or monetary compensation. Here is a cute little movie about a nice jewish boy from nyc who travels around the world (mostly NY and India) practicing asana. The movie's producer was hoping to capture some sort of miraculous transformation and spiritual growth on film, taking a beginner from the ground level, all the way up to Enlightenment. Although it is unclear from the website wether or not she achieves this goal, she manages to collect interviews with many inspirational and famous yogis and yoginis. Dharma Mittra, Mr. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, and Alan Finger, to name a few. Enlighten Up! Website

TIJUANA, Mexico The rusty fence may divide the beaches of U.S. and Mexico, but it can't break up a yoga class.
A few dozen yoga aficionados rolled out their mats Sunday on both sides of the wall between Tijuana, Mexico, and San Diego. The international group stretched and meditated together before exchanging hugs through the fence bars.
The session was organized by the Border Meetup Group, which promotes cross-border understanding by staging social events on the divided beach.
Coordinator Dan Watman said the group aims "to make friends across cultural, political, societal, even emotional barriers."
The Tijuana beach is a popular destination for families who come to chat through the fence with loved ones on the other side.
